here are some postings from Terri May on facebook as she adventured on the square and around downtown!
We went on a walking tour of Downtown Ocala today on behalf of the DBA and visited a few of the businesses available to everyone. We have never been to the Ocala Wine Experience and was charmed. We knew Julie from a few years ago, but she has a place packed with art, energy, and spirits. We Will be going back with a bunch of our friends. It seems like the most fun place to hang out.
We also visited The Private Room Salon....who just happens to be our next door neighbors. We commiserated about parking and construction and while we were chatting, Grant from the City came by to make sure all was well with us. I was surprised to know that Christeena has been there for a few years. This is also a very charming Hair Salon with very nice and personable staff. We look forward to a nice neighborly relationship.
Thomas at Stella's was also very nice as we interrupted his lunch. He is a member of the DBA and a survivor of the board. They have a nice, fresh lunch menu and the Pastries should be illegal. The kitchen gadget section is ab fab....and to be envied by all "Mr. Gadget" followers not to mention the Foodies in this town......OMG.......love it!!!
The Melting Pot was also very nice as we interrupted their dinner prep. Personally, this is one of our favorite "Date Night" spots. As we walked around in the 90+ temps today I was reminded of the window table at the holiday season with all the lights, music, and horse drawn carriages. We have had some of our most special anniversary celebrations there.
All in all, our experience Downtown today was very positive. Art Galleries, Cultural Centers, Movie Theaters, World Class Oriental Rugs, Tattoos, Restaurants, Shops, and oy the people watching. I hear that there will be Super Heroes Tomorrow night and even a car you can take any and all stress out on with a sledge hammer. We will be looking for the models from Jezebels Ocala and all the interesting artists on the sidewalks tomorrow night for First Friday Artist Walk. Slyce will be in Integrated Touch with free food samples too. Maybe you should check it out.
